Rai Rai Ken Ayala Terraces Cebu
Another Japanese Resto here in Cebu is the Teriyaki Ken, though it is more of a high end Japanese retaurant or should I say a commercialized one. It is located in the Ayala Center Cebu Terraces. Similar with Tokyo Joes, this is not a traditional Japanese resto in terms of ambiance.
The interior looks colorful, more like a fastfood restaurant, they added some japanese designs in the corner but overall its westernized 😀 Tables are well arranged. Service is quite slow (we follow up the status of our order from time to time even with the customers beside us)
Looking at their menu, as expected, prices are more costly (in my opinion) compared to traditional restaurant. The good thing is that they have a lot of varieties which is favorable for those who want to try something new or adjust according to their diet or preferred food types.
We tried their brown rice dish, the presentation is surprisingly good, mainly because of the container which is unique and traditional. The taste is similar to those stream rice you find in dimsums restos.
Next is their pork ramen, honestly it is not the best one, probably because of the pork, I can still taste the pork raw meat flavour which eradicates the soup flavor and its other ingredients , in short, I don’t like it 😀
Again, we ordered their California roll. (Had to compare these with other Japanese restos). This one is a bit better in terms of presentation and taste. The texture blends right with the rice, crab meat and the sweetness of the mango in the center.
