It started as a way of eating your food in a large frying pan with the food being cooked at the same time dipped it with puso (hanging rice) in that pan with a number of person sharing with it.
This is basically the concept of this new food hangout in Cebu, the Azul located across Asilo church is a place to visit if you want to satisfy your curiosity of the Tuslob Buwa way of eating.
The place is easy to spot since it is located across the road and as of this writing, it is still popular as flocks of people line up outside the food establishment. At first I thought it was a beer house or a bar because of the setup.
The unique about it is that you got to have your own stove & the cooking kit so you got the chance to be your own chef ( similar to yakiniku, shabu2x , sugba, etc ). Looks cool really if you don’t know how to cook while showing of to your friends 😀
Basic price is 99 pesos which includes 12 puso (hanging rice) onions, fgh ghj. They also have other dishes like siomai (sa tisa?) , sisig etc.
The fun part starts with the cooking part, not sure if they have specific instructions of cooking it. you have to put the ingredients together at a boiling point and after a few minutes, you can start dipping (tuslob) the puso at the pot like there is no tomorrow.
You better have a strong stomach for this as you will be sharing in a single pot with your friends and confident in your current blood pressure as it will be tested here.
1. Peak hrs at 6-8pm, be prepared to wait in line.
2. Bring some tissue, handkerchief, or a even face towel as it will be hot(even at night) with all the cooking and there is no exhaust fan to catch the smoke/heat.
3. Alcohol/perfume if don’t want to smell like smoke/food & for sanitary purposes
4. Check your BP (Blood Pressure) as it is a high calorie/cholesterol meal.
