Common cocktails recipes are also recreated to ensure it is delicious, at a affordable price. All food and drinks menu have been specially designed and created to bring a unique experience to the Cebuanos. Aiming to be the ‘one and only’, and not just any other bistro bar available in Cebu.
The place is cozy and shows your typical bistro bar good for night hangouts with friends. You can also chill in the bar where you can get different kinds of drinks (alcoholic or non alcoholic) with some imported ones coming from Singapore and also local beers.
Peanut Butter Burger
It is definitely the one and only peanut butter burger available anywhere else in Cebu, Philippines, and even in Singapore. The idea came about when they have guest coming, asking for main menu. This is not common in Singapore, as most Singaporean will end their nights with drinks and ‘pika pika’, which can start as early as 5pm. After monitoring the market for 2 weeks, . They started with only 5 snacks in the menu when they first opened.
Peanut butter is one of my favorite spread in the bread, I always bring one in the office and I am so thrilled that they serve Peanut butter burger which is perfect for my taste and also a unique burger which is only served here in Monkey Belly
Golden Aburi Brocolli
It makes use of the traditional Japanese method of Salmon Aburi, which involves torching of the Salmon. lt gives the brocoli a light smokiness, which adds flavours to a simple brocolli. Even if you are not a vegetable person, you will definitely love their brocolli and never thought that it is a green leafy vegetable. Though the main ingredient and way of cooking is a secret recipe from the owner, it is probably the best cooked brocolli I have tried.
The chicken wings are actually a common find in Singapore and now in Cebu. They called it ‘Har Cheong Gai’ in Singapore. It is deep fried with prawn paste and our secret recipe, which they guard it closely. The chicken meat is really juicy and smells great, hope they will serve a spicy version of it which will be equally great.
S’mores is actually a contraction of a phase ‘some more’. lt is a traditional nighttime campfire treat popular in the US and recently the Cananda, consisting of a roasted marshmallow and a layer of chocolate sandwiched between two graham cracker.
I wasn’t expecting their specialty drink is non alcoholic, the mocktaíl, which is a chocolate drink which is good for all ages, though they have some alcoholic drinks if you want an alternative.
Overall, Monkey Belly Bistro Bar is a great restobar with minimalistic setup and is easy to locate and accessible. Food is great (especially the chicken wings and brocolli) , they could’ve added a live mini acoustic band. I recommended this place if you want a bistro bar aside from IT Park, mango or malls.
