Banana Cake is a simple yet delicious recipe made with just few ingredients , I often make this recipe whenever I find 2 bananas sitting on the counter unattended ,LOL. Really love making this cake because it doesn't need any prep work, all we need is 5 minutes to prepare the batter, lets get started.

Preparation Time : 10 minutes
Resting Time : 20 minutes in the freezer
Baking Time : 13 – 15 min ( Oven)

|Quantity||Ingredients for Butter Biscuits Recipe|
|1/2 cup||Sugar (100g)|
|3/4 cup||Butter @ room temperature (150g)|
|1 tsp||Vanilla extract|
|1/4 cup||Maida / All purpose flour (250g)|
|1 tbsp||Cocoa powder|
Step 2) Now add vanilla extract, salt and powdered sugar (1/2 cup sugar before powdering). Adding vanilla extract is optional, we can skip if you don’t have.
Step 3) Now add in the flour and mix until well combined. Divide the dough into 2 equal portions. O am making both vanilla and chocolate flavor cookies today.
Step 4) Add cocoa powder to one half of the dough and mix well until even.
Step 5) Now roll it on a plastic wrap and make a rod, make sure all the sides are equal. Freeze the dough for 20 minutes.
Now after 2 minutes Divide the dough into 3 equal pieces and then stack alternatively (black-white-black and white-black-white)
Step 6) Again divide the dough into 3 equal portions and stack it again alternatively , glue with water or melted butter to keep them fixed. Start form one side and cut it into small squares.
Step 7) Preheat the cooker for 15 minutes with a layer of salt and a stand. Arrange the cookies on a plate (I have used Idli plate) and bake it for 20 -25 minutes on medium heat without the cooker weight.
Initially it may look soft but once it cools down it will be firm and tastes delicious. That’s it our delicious checker board butter cookies are ready to be enjoyed with a cup of hot coffee / Tea.
