Asian Korean Mexican Fusion cuisine is now in Cebu and Senor Kimchi will be serving you with new and unique food that will surely entice your appetite for more.
Located Axis Entertainment Avenue Escario you will find the restaurant, be sure to come early or before peak hours (dinner, lunch) since it is full packed with customers lining up to try their unique and delicious food.
They started as a Southern Californa phenomenon has traveled to Cebu, courtesy of owner, Kimberley Dacay, who first got exposed of this type of fusion cuisine when living in California a few years back.
The name itself is a combination of Mexican and Korean words.
The place itself is cozy, clean and artistic as it is shown in their interior designs and wall paintings. You can visit here with your friends and family and just appreciate the place and its laid back ambiance where you can just chill, have a chat and enjoy the food
For their food, I see a lot of new dishes in my list and I am was fortunate to try some of them. The first is the Chimichanga, where it is deep fried to perfection filled with rice, beans cheese &n choice of meat (chicken, pork , beef)
Next is the Kimchi Quessdilla Roll, a tortilla rolled with fresh kinchi, monterey jack cheese, rice and choice of meat (Chicken, Pork, meat), this is one unique dish as kimchi is used as ingredient in a roll which is quite rare here and this proves the great harmony of Korean and Mexican ingredients in a dish.
Kim was truly captured by the flavorful combination of Korean – Mexican dishes. her fascination didn’t just end there but instead became an inspiration for her to go to culinary school to learn and to explore on this.
However, don’t just expect the typical Korean – Mexican dishes when you go to this restaurant. Aim higher, por favor. For senor kimchi offers a mixture of flavors not only from Korea and Mexico, but also from Japan, China and of course, the Philippines. This, Asian Mexican Fusion at it’s finest
Overall, great food and unique Korean and Mexican dish choices that blends just right to create that tasty cuisine that will be surely embraced and loved by Cebuanos. This is probably the first Mexican Korean fusion restaurant here in Cebu and surely will not be the last once they try it.

At long last, the highly acclaimed and international restaurant will open its first branch right in the Queen City of the South (Cebu) in the Ayala Center Cebu Terraces.
Originally from Korea, Chicken Bon Chon will finally share its delicious crispy friend chicken to the Cebuanos, and this is based from the actual review and taste of their Korean chicken.
BonChon, meaning “original village” in Korean, serves Korean fried chicken that’s super crispy yet light and not greasy, with hot moist juicy meat, and sauced with its addicting soy garlic or spicy glaze.
The location of Chicken Bon Chon Cebu is in the Ayala Terraces 2nd Floor, the location before was the Don Henricos Pizza which sadly closed, near the entrance of the Ayala mall.
At BonChon, the traditional Korean bulgogi is served Asian style as beef bulgogi over rice, Western style as beef bulgogi in a wrap, and BonChon style as crunchy chicken bulgogi over rice
Their chicken is probably one of the best I have tasted and reviewed so far. Really, it is that good that I just wanted to munch for more. Judging by their taste and texture, they have this coating ingredient which is sauced with its addicting soy garlic or spicy glaze. Really liked their Spicy Korean Chicken 😀
We also got to try their other dishes, which is mostly Korean inspired, which tells me that it will be a big hit here in Cebu since there are many Koreans residing here and also it is a new taste by most of the Cebuanos which is unique to other fastfood and restaurant outlets.
Its seafood offerings began as local seasonal offerings that have become popular items on the local menu: the brand’s take on the English classic of fish and chips, crispy squid rice, and the raved-about fish taco which was inspired by the California food truck mishmash of Korean and Mexican.
BonChon’s Ko-Yo (or Korean Yogurt) strikes the perfect balance among tart, sweet, cool, and creamy – served in alternating layers with homebaked graham pie crust, and offered in Blueberry Torte and Banoffee Pie variants.
Overall, this will be one of my top choice when it comes to chicken dish and taste. Really, I recommend this when you will have a chance to dine in at Ayala Center Cebu. Whether for families or workers. A really must try and I will definitely tell you that you won’t regret it. 🙂
